Welcome to BodyTalk of Lakewood located in the offices of Healing Connections BodyTalk at 780 Simms Street in Lakewood, CO.
What is BodyTalk?
The cells and systems of our bodies were designed to be in constant communication with each other and it is only when all systems are communicating as they should be that the body experiences the state of being that we commonly refer to as “health.” When our bodies experience stress, either emotional, psychological, environmental, or physical, our systems experience a communication breakdown resulting in the state of being that we commonly refer to as “disease” or “discomfort.” BodyTalk enables the body’s energy systems to resynchronize so they can operate as nature intended.
How does it work?
When the body experiences a disruption in communication, illness, and disease, along with aches and pains are the result. Using a protocol that draws on both Western and Eastern medicine, and employing a series of yes and no questions, the practitioner accesses the innate wisdom that each and every one of us possess. Your body has all the information stored about what makes you – you, a unique individual unlike any other. Using the innate intelligence of the body/mind to highlight the areas that have been disrupted, the body and mind are able to “see” what needs to be addressed and make the necessary corrections. Each BodyTalk session is specifically addressing your health needs as an individual – no two sessions are ever alike.
What happens during a BodyTalk session?
A BodyTalk session can last anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes. At the beginning of every session we spend some time talking about your concerns and assessing the results that you’ve experienced from your previous session. With new clients we will spend quite a bit of time going over your intake form, establishing your treatment goals, and explaining in greater depth the BodyTalk protocol used during a session. After that you will lie, fully clothed, on a comfortable massage table. Using applied kinesiology I will ask your body a series of questions that will take me to a destination somewhere in the body/mind, always inquiring if I need any additional information before moving to the next destination. Once your body has highlighted those areas where communication needs to be re-established I will gently tap the top of your head; this is telling the brain to wake up and take notice of what’s going on and implement the information. Then I will gently tap over the heart; this is informing the heart to store these changes, or to “take them to heart.” It’s common for clients to become extremely relaxed during a session and if you feel you need to doze off that’s fine. Since we’re working at the level of the subconscious mind the session is just as effective, maybe even more so, if your conscious mind is relaxed and disengaged from the thought process.
As a practitioner, I feel that my role in each BodyTalk session is to act as the facilitator and the witness to your body’s own ability to heal. It is my highest privilege to act in this capacity and I am truly grateful for the experience I have with each and every client.
Can BodyTalk help me?
Although BodyTalk does not treat or diagnose specific ailments, clinical experience has shown time and time again that once a person’s system has been brought into balance that clients have shown significant improvement in the areas of:
